Sharon Denise Cochran Sides, 63, of Asheboro, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on February 4, 2019. She was born in Richmond, VA on November 30, 1955 to Clyde and Doris Parks Cochran. Sharon graduated from Asheboro High School in 1974. She graduated from Rhema Bible College and was an ordained minister. She was a very spiritual lady who loved to sing for the Lord. She was the owner of Abundant Life Christian Bookstore and was a "Domestic Engineer" for 43 years.
Sharon was bold, strong willed, joyous and loved to bring joy to others. She was a giver who enjoyed caring and blessing others. She was a great cook and everyone loved her chicken-n-dumplings and her pumpkin pie. She was also an active member of the Asheboro Women's Club and Beta Sigma Phi women's sorority. In her spare time, she could be found painting, scrapbooking or creating various crafts.
Sharon leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 43 years, Jim "Jimmy" Sides; daughter, January Williamson (Chris); son, Clark Sides (Casey); granddaughter, Ariel Sides-Williamson; and mother, Doris Parks Hughes, all of Asheboro. She is also survived by three sisters, Jackie Loflin (David) of Denton, Annette Nash (Scott), and Jeanne Swaney (Jimmy), all of Asheboro; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Cochran; stepfather, Joseph Hughes; grandparents, Lloyd and Thelma Parks; and her long-time faithful canine companion, Clover.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 11, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Clark Sides officiating. A private entombment will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the organization of the donor's choice in Sharon's honor.
