William Clyde "Billy" Moon, Jr.

William Clyde “Billy: Moon, Jr., age 57, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his home.

Billy was a native of Randolph County.  He was a 1979 graduate of Asheboro High School and a 1990 graduate of Gupton-Jones College.  He was a longtime Funeral Director and Embalmer with Pugh Funeral Home.  Billy was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a former leader of Boy Scout Troop 527.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill Moon and Fran Moon Taliaferro.  Billy enjoyed hunting.  He was a humble man with a big heart and the best brother in the world.

He is survived by his son, William C. Moon III of Asheboro; sister, Gina Moon of Asheboro; and former wife, Sonya Williams Moon of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro and other times at the home of Hilda Williams, 551 Lexington Road in Asheboro.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Vernon McDaniel and Fred Huffstetler officiating.  Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
