Martha Luck Saunders

Martha Luck Saunders, age 82, of Pleasant Garden passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Clapp’s Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.

Ms. Saunders was born in Randolph County, NC on June 20, 1936 to Astor and Loutishia McPherson Luck.  Martha was employed with Sapona Manufacturing for 20 years.  In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Luck and Lonnie Luck, Sr.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Martha survived a very serious accident nine and half years ago, and despite all her unfortunate circumstances, she continued to keep a strong fight and have a positive attitude.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Darlene Luther and husband Ervin "Buck" Luther of Coleridge and Judy Carol Saunders and boyfriend Timothy Richardson of Coleridge; son, Alan Bryan Saunders of Coleridge; grandsons, Michael Teague and wife Rachel of Gastonia and Brandon Teague and wife Brittany of Coleridge; granddaughter, Shannon Beaver and husband Michael of Seagrove; 5 great grandchildren; and sisters, Betty Adams of Asheboro and Dora-Etta Koesy of High Point and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spoons Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, 1880 Spoon's Chapel Church Road in Asheboro with Rev. Bill Harwell officiating.
