Obituary of Thomas Moffitt
Thomas Wesley "Tom" Moffitt, age 74 of Salisbury and formerly of Asheboro died Friday evening at the Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Moffitt was a native of Randolph County. Tom was an Army Veteran and was retired from Duke Energy. Tom was an avid salt water fisherman, biker, hunter, and arrowhead collector. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Wesley and Swanna Cheek Moffitt.
He is survived by his sons, Tommy Moffitt and wife Rhonda of Sophia, Brian Moffitt and wife Rebecca of Trinity, and Stephen Moffitt and wife Shannon of Trinity; former wife, Miffy Moffitt of Thomasville; grandchildren, Zach Moffitt and wife Wendy, Daniel Moffitt and wife Courtney, Michaela Wells and husband Jimmy, Thad Moffitt, Helen Moffitt, Harrison Moffitt, Trace Moffitt, Avery Moffitt, Chris Medlin, and Brandy Medlin; great grandchildren, Peyton, Nova, Carleigh, Mary Grace, and Levi; sister, Linda Sexton and husband Clarence of Asheboro; nephews, Mark Sexton and wife Karen, and Chris Sexton.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Crosswhite officiating. Inurnment will follow on Tuesday at Randolph Memorial Park with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
