Dorothy Pease Yager

Dorothy Pease Yager left this life at 10 pm, on February 11, 2019 at the age of 90, following a long illness.

She was born May 6, 1928 to parents Mr. Leo Wood Pease and Mrs. Elsie Jones Pease of Orange, Va. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Hugh Clarke Yager, Sr. of Charlottesville, Va.

She worked at the Bell Telephone Company and then Virginia Metal Products in Orange, Va., before moving to Charlottesville, Va. and working at Martha Jefferson Hospital as a switchboard operator/admissions clerk for 20 years. She retired in 1994 after 20 yrs. of service.

She leaves behind two daughters, Dr. Diane Scharle of New Bern, NC, Ms. Debra Marshall of Asheboro, NC, and three Step children, Mrs. Dale Yager Breeden of Charlottesville, Va., Mr. Hugh Clarke Yager Jr. of Pa., and Mr. Claude William Yager of Charlottesville, Va. In addition, she leaves behind 9 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, and 10 Great-great Grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 12 noon at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Interment will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
