Elizabeth "Betty" Koppel York

d. March 11, 2019

Elizabeth May Koppel York, 82, passed away in the arms of Jesus on March 11, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.

Betty, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, was born May 2, 1936 to Steven and Clara Koppel.

She is survived by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Mack York; oldest son, Jeffrey York; daughters, Dawn Stone and husband Wes, and Kathleen Lambe; grandchildren, Autumn Dugas and husband Joshua, John Cheek III, and Kara Lambe; great grandson, Darin Lambe; and brother, Stephen Koppel.

Betty married Bill York on October 16, 1956. Betty traveled a great deal early in her marriage as her husband was a member of the United States Air Force. They and their children lived in many states before Bill's retirement from the Air Force.

Betty worked in a department store in Austin, Texas, a credit union on George Air Force Base in California, and she spent 16 years at the First Southern/RBC Bank at Randolph Mall.

Throughout her life she enjoyed country music shows in Austin, Texas, playing softball and bowling, and traveling with Bill and the kids. In the evenings she would relax playing games on Pogo.

Betty was a collector of Fenton glassware and Betty Boop memorabilia.

Betty's greatest joy was her family. She so loved and adored her husband Bill of 62 years. She loved raising her three children with Bill and spoiling her grandchildren with him. Our hearts are with you Mama!
