Obituary of James Herman Allred

James Herman Allred, age 84, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019 at Randolph Health.

Mr. Allred was born in Cedar Falls on January 28, 1935 to William Franklin "Doc" Allred and Lucy Gold Wright Allred. Herman served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was formerly employed as a mechanic with Stevenson's Texaco and retired from Sapona Manufacturing after 33 years of service. Herman was a member of Bailey's Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his son, Keith Allred, brothers, Ernest Monroe Allred and Larry Nolan Allred, former wife, Elizabeth Hunt Cushman, and grandson, Brian Keith Allred, who passed away on the same day as Herman.

He is survived by his sons, Marshall Allred and wife Diane of Asheboro, Tim Allred of Asheboro, and Danny Gallimore of Franklinville; daughter, Sara Allred Heffron and husband Greg of Middletown, OH; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Morona Allred of Asheboro; brother, William Henry Allred of Cedar Falls; and former wife, Joanne Harris Allred of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A graveside service will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Cedar Falls Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Shook officiating.
