Rhonda Gayle Shaw

Rhonda Gayle Shaw (51) of Sophia, NC went home to see the Lord on May 30th, 2019, due to health complications. She was surrounded by her loved ones when Heaven welcomed her home.

Rhonda was a Christian woman and member of First Baptist Church of Randleman who led children to the Lord through Sunday School Ministries. Rhonda put everyone’s needs before her own. She was a loving wife, mama, Nana, daughter, sister, and friend. She strived hard to be the best that she could be in everything that she did and lived every day to its fullest. She loved her career in law enforcement where she was a MCpl Sheriff ‘s deputy at the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office starting in 2008. Prior to, she served as a deputy at the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office starting in 1996. People knew her as the “Work Mama” in both offices. She never met a stranger and mothering people in general was one of her greatest gifts on earth especially any and all of her children’s friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

We mourn for you on earth, but we know you are praising God and dancing in Heaven.

Rhonda is survived by her husband, Darren Shaw, her children, Stephanie (Jesse) Small, Bradley (Brandi) Shaw, and Hannah Shaw. Her grandchildren, Grayson Small (4) and Olivia Small (1). As well as her parents, Ronald and Jerry Smith, sister Angelia Smith Rich and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her step son Matthew Morris-Winslow.

The viewing for Rhonda will be at Pugh Funeral Home of Asheboro on Sunday, June 2nd from 5pm to 8pm. The funeral will follow on Monday, June 3rd at 1pm at First Baptist Church of Randleman.
