Shirley "Anne" Pickett

Shirley "Anne" Hall Pickett, age 72, of Asheboro, died Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mrs. Pickett was born June 26, 1947 in Randolph County to Otis and Lois Hall.

She was a long time member and assistant pianist at Spoons Chapel Christian Church and retired from Asheboro City Schools. Shirley was a strong willed lady with a fun loving personality who enjoyed working in her vegetable garden. She was a loving mother who adored her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Warren Hall.

She is survived by her daughter: Yolanda Grubb of Lake Norman; grandchildren, Elizabeth Cheek, Gavin and Gabriella Grubb; sister, Jean Trogdon and husband Paul of Asheboro; brothers, Ralph Hall and wife Carol of Asheboro; Cecil Hall and wife Carolyn of Asheboro and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday, July 22, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Isaac Fetterhoff officiating.
