Wanda Gail Roberts Hazellief

Wanda Gail Roberts Hazellief, age 73, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at her home.

Ms. Hazellief was born in Gizzard Point, AL on April 1, 1946 to Clarence and Sarah Elizabeth Rooks Roberts. Wanda was a former resident of Skyline, AL, grew up in Plant City, FL, and raised her family in Okeechobee, FL. Wanda enjoyed cooking and her favorite places to work were Denny's and Red Rooster. Wanda loved Jesus and was a member of the Church of God in Okeechobee, FL. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Kaleigh, sister, Nina Sharp, and brother, Alton Roberts. Wanda loved her grandkids, gardening, and her red birds.

She is survived by her son, Joe Hazellief of Florida; daughters, Marie Lyda and husband Richard of Asheboro, Kimberley Marcum and husband Tommy of Asheboro, and Trenda Matheny and husband Joe of Florida; grandchildren, Susan, Tiana, Russell, Jonathan, Joseph, Katie, Justin, Jackie, Johanna, Brooke Hall, Alyssa, Cole, Jake, Jenna, and Brian; great grandchildren, Ivy, Emma, Skylar, Adalynn, Eli, Ariel, Johnny, Hadley, Tristin, Layton, Layla, Michael, Bailey, Hazelle, and Nolan; great great grandchild, Atalee; sister, Carolyn Johnson and husband Larry of Stockton, GA; and brother. Ernest Ray Roberts and wife Ann of Tampa, FL.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 10:00 - 10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ernest Ray Roberts officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
