Thomas Allen Luther

d. August 9, 2019

Thomas Allen Luther, age 82, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, August 9, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Luther was born in Randolph County on August 14, 1936 to Thomas E. and Emma Luther. He was formerly employed with Bossong Hosiery and retired from Klaussner Furniture. Allen was a charter member of Crestview Wesleyan Church and attends the Church of the Nazarene. In addition to his parents, Allen was preceded in death by his brother, Davis Luther, nephew, Rev. Edwin Luther, niece, Lorraine Brown, and niece-in-law, Mischa Luther. Always warmhearted and with a ready smile, Allen was a loyal man of God with a joyful spirit that endured. For 59 years of marriage, he and his beloved wife, Barbara, lived their beautiful, Christ-centered love story, acting as a team in all things. His passion was music, and he formerly performed with The Joyful Christian Singers and The Visionaires. Allen was a very creative person who enjoyed growing plants, and making floral designs to brighten others' special days and moments. He always put others first and expressed a neat sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara Walker Luther; nieces and nephews, Rev. Arnold Luther (Darlene), David Luther, Mark Luther, Rebecca Smith (Rev. William Smith), Deborah Moffitt (William), Christine Barker (Rev. Monty Barker), Connie Amidon (Derek), Marcia Hamilton (Dan), Allison Briden (Brad Creswell), Donna Street (Richard), Chad Walker (Michelle), and Melody Greene (Robert); uncle, Mack (Thelma) Strider; and several great nieces and nephews.
