Obituary of Carol "Jane" Rush Bowden
Carol "Jane" Rush Bowden, age 76, of, Asheboro died Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro.
Mrs. Bowden was born March 27, 1943 the daughter of Gilmer O. Rush and Elva Ledwell Rush.
Jane was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Asheboro High School where she was played basketball. Later while attending Elon College, she made the cheerleading squad. Jane attended Asheboro Business College where she received her degree in business. Jane retired from Burlington Industries after fulfilling several job titles there during her career. Jane was an active member of New Union United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist for over 44 years. She enjoyed Sunday School and Bible study for as long as she was able to attend. Jane shared her talents and love of the piano with others, especially Clapp's Nursing Home, playing Southern Gospel music for the residents. She was a trusted friend, a good listener and a person that enjoyed the simple things in life. Jane was a very devoted loving grandmother to Cody and attended all of his events in school. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Rush.
She is survived by her daughter: Kelli Rae Stultz and her husband, David Stultz of Asheboro; grandson: Cody Brian Stultz of Asheboro; great aunt: Kathleen Ledwell Osborne of Winston Salem; numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 3:00 PM at New Union United Methodist Church, 1293 Union Church Road, Asheboro with Rev. Jean Nall and Rev. Lynn Cash officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service in the church and other times at her daughter's home.
