Obituary of Larry Lloyd Bulla
Larry Lloyd Bulla, age 81, of Asheboro died Friday, October 4, 2019 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
Larry was born in Asheboro to Lester and Flossie Tatum Bulla. He was a 1956 graduate of Asheboro High School and in 2018 he was inducted into the first class of inductees of the Athletic Hall of Fame. He continued his education at Elon College on a basketball scholarship and in 1958 signed to play professional baseball with the Cleveland Indians. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church and also served in the U.S. Army. He taught and coached for 1 year at Coleridge School and retired from Energizer after 32 years as a Regional Distribution Manager. He returned to work with the Randolph County School System as a Purchasing Agent.
He is survived by his Wife, Judy Cox Bulla; Daughter: Julie Bulla of Chicago, IL and Son, Randy Bulla of Ramseur; Granddaughters, Heather and Hannah Hardy of Atlanta, GA; Great Grandchildren, Ayiden, Leah, and Rowyn; Sister, Phyllis and her husband, Jack Sugg of Seagrove.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
