Jackie Bryan Mize age 84, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Randolph Hospice House. Jackie was born on April 13, 1935 in High Point NC, to Bessie Jane Bryan and Earl Bryan. She was a member of First E & R United Church of Christ and served as a deacon, a youth Sunday school teacher, and a youth group leader. Jackie, and her deceased husband of 66 years Malcolm, devoted their life to serving on many different committees for the First E & R United Church of Christ. Jackie retired from Energizer Battery in 1998 after serving 24 years. She was also a proud business owner of Shear Artistry Salon. Her hobbies were camping, traveling, and spending time at the beach with her family. She attended Allen Jay High School in High Point NC. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Mize; sisters, Dorthey Lawson, Mary Neal; and brother, Robert Bryan. She is survived by son, Michael Mize and wife Melanie; daughter, Teresa Carter and husband Billy all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Krista Frazier and husband Morgan, Leslie Kidd and husband Travis, Brittney Mize, Courtney Pineda and husband Jose, and Kamryn Carter; great grandchildren, Price, Mason, Riley, Anson, Ty, Olivia, Carter and Kaesen; sister, Millie Hicks of Greensboro; and brother, Jimmy Bryan of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2020, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, 1:00 pm at First E & R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Road, Asheboro with Rev. Dave Cash officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. The family would like to express a special Thank You to Hospice Home Care nurses, Maddie and Stacey, and to the nurses and staff at Randolph Hospice House for their tender love and care they provided to Jackie and her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the E & R United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 1002, Asheboro, NC 27204 or the Randolph Hospice House, 416 Vision Dr., Asheboro, NC 27203.
