Rachel Lee Kivett Roberson, age 80, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House
Mrs. Roberson was a native of Randolph County and was formerly employed with Asheboro City Schools at various cafeterias. Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Roberson, daughter, Lillie Coble, grandson, Travis Coble, mother, Virla Kivett, and brother, Bob Kivett. Rachel was a strong-willed lady who always put her family first. She enjoyed eating out, especially with her son, Kenneth.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Varner of Asheboro; daughters, Carolyn Creason (David) of Asheboro and Pam Chestnut (John) of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Greg Cook, Heather Brock, Monta Spurio, Tina Pentedemos, Rodney Creason, and April Creason; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jones and Gaynell Craven; and brothers, Raydean Kivett (Carol), Darrell Kivett (Evelyn) and Roger Kivett (Bonnie).
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we are asking the public to limit any gatherings to under 50 individuals. Therefore, we encourage you to pay your respects through our website or visit during the non-peak hours of 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22 while her body lies in state at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Carolyn Creason.
A private service will be held.
