Donald Joe Danner

Donald Joe Danner, age 80, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Mr. Danner was born in Mocksville, NC on May 25, 1939 to Troy Vestal Danner and Wilma Mae Anderson Danner. He was a graduate of Lipscomb University with a BS Degree in Business Administration. Don was retired from the Social Security Administration after 25 years of service, where he was ranked as the number one Branch Manager in the entire United States. Following his retirement, Don was employed with Central Carolina Printing for 15 years. He was a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ in Asheboro. Don's favorite past time was spending time with all his family, his wife, children, and grandchildren. His favorite food was sweets. Don enjoyed doing yard work with his son Troy and he loved animals. Don was a humble, honest, patient, loyal, and generous gentleman. He is survived by his wife, LouAnn Smith Danner; daughters, Amy R. Danner of Randleman and Kimberly D. Landrum and husband Jeff of Sunset Beach; son, Troy D. Danner and wife Deanna of Asheboro; and his grandchildren, Katherine Ann, Brooke Erin, Natalie Danner, and Caroline Danner. Mr. Danner's body will lie in state on Friday, May 1, 2020 from noon-5:00 pm and Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 9:00 am-noon at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.
