Rebecca "Becky" Cox

Lola Rebecca "Becky" Smith Cox, age 62, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Cox was born in Randolph County on June 23, 1957 to Paul and Ruby Dickens Smith. She was formerly employed as a waitress at Western Steer and Olde Town Deli and worked in the cafeteria at Cross Road Retirement Community. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her siblings, Carol Smith, Shirley Collins, Audrey Ferrell, and Keith Smith. Becky loved her children, going to church, and eating out. She enjoyed wreath making and shopping. She is survived by her husband, Ken Cox; son, Brandon Hames (Heather) of Franklinville; daughter, Ashley Elizabeth Wilcox (Justin) of Texas; stepsons, Brian Cox of Sanford and Kevin Cox of Canada; grandson, Calvin Hames; brothers, Earl Smith (Margaret) of Cedar Falls, Aubrey Smith (Kathy) of Asheboro, and Richard Smith (Rita) of Franklinville; and sisters, Martha Long (Jesse) of Denton, Catherine Paulette Walters (Doug) of Kenly, and Bobbie Jeanette Burrows of Asheboro. A private service will be held. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Cox family.
