Evelyn Darnell Long

Evelyn Darnell Morgan Long, age 74, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Green Valley Hospital, Greensboro and went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Long was born February 18, 1946 the daughter of Eddie and Iris "Bo-d" Morgan in Randolph County. Darnell was a native of Asheboro and the consummate painter and loved to draw. She enjoyed graffito, brushing on pottery and researching genealogy. She was preceded in death by her father: Eddie Jennings Morgan, brothers: Ken Jennings Morgan, and Kim "Kimbo" Stephen Morgan. She is survived by her husband: James Loyd Long; one son: Jonathan (Loretta) Long of Asheboro, NC; two grandchildren: Cameron and Keenan Long; mother: Iris "Bo-d" Evelyn Clark Morgan of Asheboro; four sisters: Rhonda (Richard) Austin of Randleman, NC, Pamela Morgan of Robbins, NC, Lisa Bunting of Katy, TX and Anna Morgan of Asheboro, NC; and sister-in-law, Lona A. Morgan of Star, NC. All services are private, but Darnell will lie in state at Pugh Funeral Home 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC from 1:00-5:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2020.
