Charles Ray Farlow, age 84, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Farlow was born September 20, 1935 to Eugene and Myrtle Rich Farlow. Ray was a loving, Christian husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a hard worker with an incredibly strong work ethic. Ray enjoyed cooking and was known for his biscuits, chip beef and gravy and his homemade Christmas candy. He enjoyed traveling to the beach with his family and loved watching his grandchildren play sports. Ray was a lifelong cattle farmer and was owner/operator of Farlow Produce and Ray Farlow Builders. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and has been a member at Oakhurst Baptist Church for over 50 years, where he served as a deacon and a dedicated Christian servant. In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his stepmother, Strawda Hare Farlow; and sister, Mary Lee Farlow.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Sue Burks Farlow; children, Pam Farlow (JJ) Johnson of Asheboro, Charles Nathan (Nancy) Farlow of Asheboro, Sonya Farlow (Sammy) Pearce of Fuquay-Varina, and Mary Farlow (Steve) Luck of Asheboro; grandchildren, Phillip Johnson, Josh (Michaela) Johnson, Matthew Farlow, Audrey Farlow, Jackson Yates, Seth Luck, Carson Luck, Benjamin Luck; and great granddaughter, Skylar Rose Hurley.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Seagrove Christian Church Cemetery-Hilltop Memorial Cemetery, 426 NC Hwy 705, Seagrove with Dr. Keith Hudson officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
