Violet Brown Cox

Violet Brown Cox, age 90, of Randleman, relocated to her heavenly home Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at High Point Medical Center. Mrs. Cox was born October 9, 1929 in Randolph County to Eugene and Lena Allred Brown. She was a 1947 graduate of Asheboro High School and was retired from Big Deal/Suit Outlet, where she worked with her husband. Mrs. Cox was a member of Brower's Chapel United Methodist Church and Randolph Chapter #210 Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Edsel O. Cox, sisters, Bertha Brown, Edna Hodgin, Ruth Ingold, Gladys Herlocker and brother, Luther E. Brown. Violet was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, devout Christian, hard worker, and was very talented and creative. She was known by many for her sweet nature and smile, even when her health was failing. She is survived by her son, Dwain O. Cox and wife Joanne; daughter, Iris L. Cox; grandchildren, Holly King Patel and husband Sam, Tucker Clark, Diana Osborne and husband Rick; great grandchildren, Jasmine, Kareena and Avinash Patel; brothers, David E. Brown and wife Janice, Colon A. Brown and wife Nancy; numerous nieces and nephews. A private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to Flint Hill Community Church, 6605 Flint Hill Rd., Sophia, NC 27350. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the family.
