Norman Thomas Boes, a resident of Asheboro, NC, passed away unexpectedly at home on the evening of August 23, 2020 at the age of 76. Norman was also known as Red and "Tractor Pop-Pop."
Red is survived by his wife, Anne Boes; his children, Brenda White (husband Franklin), Christine Ennis (husband Jeff), and Thomas Boes; his brother Samuel Boes (wife Patricia), and his close cousin William Boes (wife Madeline). Red is also survived by three grandchildren: Daniel Wiggins, Bailey Fattorusso, and Gaetano (TJ) Fattorusso. Red is preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie and Paul Boes, and his mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Michael Romano. Red is also survived by countless close friends and loving family. Red was a true friend to everyone he met.
Red and Anne were married 54 years ago in Rutherford, New Jersey and each night before bed they fought over who would say "I love you" first. Red loved fishing, the beach, building furniture, retirement, Budweiser beer, and riding his lawnmower.
Red served in the United States Navy from 1962 until 1965 and he prided himself on being the son as well as the father of a Veteran. He was also an active volunteer with the Asheboro AMVETS veterans service organization.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, August 27 at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro and Norman will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery.
