Laris Dean Allred, age 73, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Allred was born in Moore County on November 15, 1946 to Clarence and Ella Brown Allred, who preceded him in death. Laris served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was retired from Black & Decker and was a member of Asheboro First Wesleyan Church. Laris loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who called him "Pop." Laris enjoyed working on and trading vintage cars and his favorite car would always be the next one.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy Trogdon Allred; sons, Jason Allred (Melissa) of Asheboro and Jarred Allred (Kathy) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Maggie, Ross, and Matt Allred; and sister, Betty Sue Holman (Roy) of Lexington.
The family would like to express a special thank you to doctors and nurses in ICU Units 4 & 5 at Baptist Hospital for their care and concern.
The family would also like to thank all of his friends, family, car buddies, and veterans for their thoughts and prayers.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at 4:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro with Rev. Mark C. Beane and Rev. Kevin Dunovant officiating and with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the service.
