Christopher Lee "Chris" Cates

Christopher Lee "Chris" Cates, age 36, of Archdale passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at his home. Mr. Cates was born in High Point on April 19, 1984 to Billy Wayne and Wanda Edwards Cates. He was employed as a welder with Trinity Iron Works. Chris was preceded in death by his father, grandmother, Nancy Edwards, grandfather, Clarence Edwards, and uncle, Dewey Edwards. Chris loved motorcycles. He is survived by his children, Brianna Leigh, Jacoby, Kameron, and Emily Grace; mother, Wanda Sims; sister, Kerri Lynn Cates; brothers, Jason, Brandon, and Tyler Cates; stepmother, Marie Cates; grandparents, Lucille and Wallace Cates; aunt, Ashlee Cates, and uncle, Mike Cates. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm at the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 5001 Glenview Drive in High Point with Pastor David Edwards officiating. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Cates family.
