Helen Daisy Strayhorne

Helen Daisy Guthrie Strayhorne, age 94, of Asheboro died Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Woodland Hill Center. Mrs. Strayhorne was born February 11, 1926 in Buncombe County to Robert and Rachel Guthrie. She was a former member of Asheboro Church of Christ and was retired from United Carbide in Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Strayhorne was preceded in death by her husband, Thornton Blaine Strayhorne and son-in-law, Blake Martin. Mrs. Strayhorne is survived by daughter, Priscilla Martin; son, Blaine Strayhorne, Jr. and wife Rosa; grandchildren, Eric Martin and wife Christy, Allison Martin, Ivan Strayhorne, Kevin Strayhorne; great grandchildren, Aaron Martin and wife Hope, Connor Martin, Cyrus Strayhorne; great great grandchild, Carter Martin; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Bus. North, Asheboro with Pastor Jonathan Shook officiating.
