Betty Lou Leach Wicker, age 90, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Wicker was born in Greenville County, SC on March 19, 1930 to Carl Morgan and Beulah Nelson Leach. Betty was employed with B.B. Walker Shoe Company for over 30 years and Walmart for 11 years. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wicker, great granddaughter, Anna Hunter, and 10 siblings. Betty loved traveling to the beach, shopping, and reading, but most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her children, Frank Daniel Wicker (Beverly) of Kannapolis, Jo Blackwell of Asheboro, and Mary London (David) of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Candy Hunter (Ryan), Jonathan London, Kelly Peele (Travis), Carla Hardee, Tara Herlocker (Jeff Bowman), Kim Nance (Randy), Angie Bennett, and Greg Bennett; great grandchildren, Harrison, Mauressa, Madison, Jake, and Peyton; sister, Faye Cooley of Easley, SC; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Beth Hodges, Dr. Christine McCarty and their staffs and all the staff at the Randolph Hospice House for the love and care they provided. Mrs. Wicker's body will lie in repose on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Randolph Memorial Park, 4538 US Hwy 220 Business North in Asheboro. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and masks are required for all who attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, 416 Vision Dr., Asheboro, NC 27203.
