Jimmy Minson Spell, age 76, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, February 8, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Spell was born in Fayetteville on January 22, 1945 to Ernie and Mildred Spell. He was employed with Klopman Mills, Burlington Industries, and Ramtex for 35 years. Jimmy was a member of Sunset Avenue Church of God. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Spell. Jimmy coached basketball, baseball, and football with the Asheboro Recreation League for many years. Jimmy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jimmy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time at the beach with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ann Spell; children, Tina Revis (Jeff) of Mars Hill, Eric Todd Spell (Rhonda) of Bahama, Amy Spell of Asheboro, and Jamie Spell Tilley (Jason) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Lee Revis (Kayla), Aidan Tilley, Anna Claire Spell, Brandon Todd Spell, and Kinsley Tilley; and sister, Linda Faye Allred of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm at Sunset Avenue Church of God, 900 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Sunset Avenue Church of God with Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
