Richard Allen Markvart

Richard Allen Markvart (born November 12, 1940 in Chicago, IL), entered his eternal home on February 16, 2021 at Randolph Health in Asheboro. He was preceded in death by his parents Eleanor and Richard James Markvart, his brother Bobby Markvart, and sisters Candy Fleck and Sharon Gonzolas. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Myra Halsted Markvart, sons Richard Jr. and Jason Eric and five grandchildren, Richard Markvart III, Blake Austin Markvart, Juliette Hessie Markvart, Alexandra Yvonne Markvart and Chloe Rayne Markvart, sister, Adrienne Kahn, brother, Dennis Markvart. Richard served proudly in the Marine Corps and Coast Guard Reserve. A graduate of Pacific Western University, he was a safety director for the U.S. Government, including Safety Director for Preventive Medicine 97th General Hospital in Frankfurt Germany and Director of Preventive Medicine Naval Air Station Naples Italy. He retired as the Safety Director, Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach VA. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Marine Corps League, and All Souls Anglican Church in Asheboro. Interment will be in Botetourt County Virginia with a private family service.
