David Brown Dunn, 88 of Asheboro passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at his home.
Mr. Dunn was born in Asheboro on May 21, 1932 to William and Hazel Brown Dunn. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School Class of 1950. David served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Betty Kindley Dunn for 62 years and she precedes him in death. David is also preceded in death by an infant son, parents and brother-in-law, Don Hamilton.
David retired from Energizer Battery with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed attending church, was a member of Sawyersville Wesleyan Church and attended West Asheboro Church of God. David loved music and his family and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his daughters, Celia Craven (John), Carolyn Crawford (Randy), and Susan Butcher (Todd) all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Phillip Crawford (Coral), Kathryn Watson (Frankie), Patrick Crawford, Sarah Cooke (Travis), and Lauren Smith; great grandchildren, Landon Watson, Zachary Cooke, John Luke Watson, Anna Cooke, Weston Smith and Krista Woolard (Micah); sisters, Marilyn D. Hamilton, Jeanette D Lowdermilk (Roy) and Willa D. Dixon (Phil); and special caregiver, Louise Parrish.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at West Asheboro Church of God, 197 Lewallen Rd. Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Travis Cooke, Rev Matt Gunter, and Rev. Darrell Rabon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
