Obituary of Rebecca C. Dunn

Rebecca Campbell Dunn, age 60, formerly of Asheboro, died Saturday, April 3, 2021 at her home in New London. NC. Rebecca was predeceased by her parents: Daniel James Campbell, Jr. and Rebecca Dickson Campbell. Rebecca grew up in Laurinburg, NC and graduated from Scotland High School in 1978. She then continued her education at UNCG graduating in 1982 with a teaching degree. She worked as a teacher for many years and retired from Tabernacle Elementary School just a few years ago. She then worked with First United Methodist Preschool in Asheboro. She had an endless supply of patience and compassion. She was an avid UNC Basketball fan and loved to be at the lake and she was often heard to say, "the lake is my happy place!" She loved to walk and read; she rarely missed a day of either. Her mottos in life were, "Text me when you get home.", "Things will work out for the best." "It is what it is" and "That's the bombdiggity". She was a phenomenal boat driver and often said "Don't cuss the boatdriver". She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband: Scott Dunn; two sons: Franklin Nash Dunn and girlfriend Elena Gagon of Atlanta, GA and Ian Dunn and girlfriend Kirsten Sharpe of Raleigh, NC; one sister: Edith (Tim) Hartis of Rock Hill, SC; niece: Audrey Hartis and granddogs: Goose and Maisy. A private service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel St, Ste 200, Newton, MA 02458 or Wake The World- www.waketheworld.org/donate.
