Oliva Escutia Serfin, age 53, of Asheboro passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Mrs. Serfin was born in Guanajuato, Mexico on April 24, 1967. She was employed with Sapona Manufacturing and attended Our Lady of the Americas Catholic Church. Oliva was preceded in death by a grandchild. Oliva was an amazing woman, very caring, supportive, and giving. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Gerardo Serfin, daughters, Monica Slabbekoorn (Neal) of Detroit, MI and Guadalupe Serfin (fiance' Abraham Lara) of Asheboro; son, Gerardo Angel Serfin (Alexandria Newell) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Leila Slabbekoorn and Emiliano Lara; parents, Filiberto Escutia Mendoza and Amparo Vega Alvarez; and siblings, Efrain, Joel, Alberto, Teresa, Jesus, Marilu, Rene, and Florencio Escutia.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:30-5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 5:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel.
