Obituary of Betty Kinney Garner

Betty Kinney Garner, age 86, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. Mrs. Garner was born in Davidson County on November 20, 1934 to David and Ednis Snider Kinney. Betty was a 1952 graduate of Denton High School and was retired from Allmon Seaming. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Garner and her little brother, Robert Lee Kinney. She is survived by her son, Billy Garner (Sue) of Asheboro; daughters, Letha Crisp (Steven) of East Bend and Shelby Branson (Allen) of Asheboro; grandchildren, Josh Garner of Asheboro, Ashley Garner (George Matfield) of Asheville, Dustin Crisp of East Bend, Amanda Julian (Chris) of Asheboro, Jim Simpson (Tara) of Asheboro, Caroline Crisp of East Bend, Gary Smith (Karen) of Asheboro, Traci Reynolds (Michael) of Crumpler, Melissa Martin (Eric) of Franklinville, Cody Branson (Hannah) of Asheboro, and Tiffany Clark (Mason) of Asheboro; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. The family would like to thank the staff at Clapp's Nursing Home for the care given to Mrs. Garner during her stay. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Farmer United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6127 Old NC Hwy 49 in Denton with Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating.
