Helen Mae Cox Beane

Helen Mae Cox Beane All Dressed Up With Somewhere To Go! Born in the beautiful, rural Erect Coleridge community of southeastern Randolph County, North Carolina, Helen Mae Cox Beane entered this life on March 5, 1928. On May 16, 2021 she slipped peacefully into eternal life residing now in the presence of Jesus. Her spiritual commitment made long ago has now become reality. God blessed her with 93 years of life. As a member of the Beta Club, Helen graduated from Coleridge High School at the young age of sixteen. She would mention quite often a joyful upbringing with her sisters and brother. Sixty-two first cousins lived close by. Their lives were filled with simple pleasures and daily chores along with community connections at the Antioch and Shiloh Christian Churches. Her love for music was expressed in song with an alto voice. Helen loved to cook for her family with meats, garden-grown vegetables and especially desserts. Candied yams, banana pudding and delicious homemade biscuits were always welcomed at the table. After her teenage years, Helen met Walter Robert Beane from Ulah. They married on December 24, 1949. With his death in 2017 at age 91, they had celebrated nearly 68 years of marriage. Walter and Helen spent their adult lives working in the textile industry. Walter retired from Bossong Hosiery and Helen retired from positions with Pinehurst Textile and Randolph Apparel. Central Wesleyan Church in Asheboro was their chosen place of worship. Helen assisted there in various ways primarily serving in the Sunday School office. Special gratitude is extended to Rev. Larry and Faye Johnson, Rev. Robert and Rev. Gwen Armstrong, Rev. Arnold and Darlene Luther, and Rev. Bill and Tula Brady, among others for their church ministry to Walter and Helen through the years. In addition to her parents Robert and Mae Cox, Helen was preceded in death by a sister Marie Cox who died in infancy, sister Brenda Cox Davis and brother June Cox. Surviving family members include Helen's son the Rev. Mark C. Beane and wife Dr. Bette T. Beane of Asheboro, and grandson Joshua M. Beane of Atlanta, Georgia. Surviving siblings include sisters Treva Cox Chrisco and Penny Cox Garner, brother-in-law Darrell Davis, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Billy and Snowdene Beane as well as many nieces and nephews. Helen's son the Rev. Mark C. Beane will preside over her funeral service. The Beane family expresses deep appreciation to caregivers Cynthia Butler, Lori Blackwelder, Tammy Cagle, Tina, and Auberny.
