Sibyl Strider Lewis

Sibyl Eloise Strider Lewis, age 87, of Asheboro went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 28, 2021 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Sibyl was born in Montgomery County and graduated from Biscoe High School in the class of 1953. She was the daughter of Cicero Hammer Strider, Sr. and Mary Lena Belch Strider. Sibyl retired from Acme McCrary with 24 years of service. She and her family attended Fayetteville Street Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. Sibyl taught in Junior Church and the Primary department for over 25 years. She loved helping with Bible school and singing in the choir through the years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Lewis, brothers, John, Author and C. H. Strider, Charles Strider and sisters, Marjorie Frye and Elizabeth Key. She is survived by sons, John C. Lewis Jr. and wife Pam of Ramseur, David S. Lewis and wife Lyn of Randleman; grandchildren, Mandy, Deanna and Travis; great grandchild, Aurora; brother, Herbert Strider and wife Georgia of Aurora, CO. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 10:00 – 10:50 am at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, 901 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am with Dr. Bruce Dickerson and Rev. Randy Browden officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
