Kathryn Church

Kathryn "Kat" Weston Church entered her eternal heavenly home on Wednesday, June 9, 2021. Kat was born February 19, 1926 to John and Mary Daves of High Point who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Ruth Swink and Mary Helen Hill, and three of her children, Johnny Church, Betsy Church, and Susie Luther. Kat devoted her life to serving the Lord. Kat and Joe raised their children in Balfour Baptist Church in Asheboro, where Kat served as the Minister of Music for 11 years, taught numerous Sunday School classes, served 2 years as the WMU Director, was the choir director for many years, and acted as the tour director. Left to adore her memory is Kat's husband of 77 years Joseph "Joe" White Church Sr., Kat's children, who value her unconditional love, are Becky Solomon (Larry) and Joseph "Joey" Church Jr. (Terri); grandchildren, who were the love of her life, are Ricky Luther, Katie Seamon (Russ), Jason Solomon (Qiao), Derek Church (Brittany), Julie Church, Christina Church (Michael), Beth Church (Stuart), Jessica Trogdon (Derek), Suzie Church (Ryan), and Trace Church; and numerous great grandkids who were loved and valued by Kat. Kat's body will lie in repose on Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 1:00-5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro with Rev. Gary Mason and Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Balfour Baptist Church, 1642 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
