Alex Duran Alcaras, age 19, of Asheboro passed away on October 31, 2021 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Alex was born in Moore County on January 4, 2002.  He was employed as an electrician and was of the Catholic faith.  Alex was preceded in death by his daughter, Ximana Alcaras and paternal grandfather, Margarito Alcaras.  Alex enjoyed playing soccer, going to parties, dancing and sports cars.  The most important part of his life was being with his family.

He is survived by his son, Gael Alcaras; parents, Eliseo and Bertha Alcaras; siblings, Beatriz Alcaras, Brenda Alcaras, Elizabeth Alcaraz, Eliseo Duran, and Jesus Alcaras; maternal grandparents, Baltazar Duran and Celfa Garcia; and paternal grandmother, Socorro Ayala.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.  A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Phillip Kollithanath officiating.  Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
