Joseph Henry Cross

Joseph Henry Cross, Sr., age 78, of 1498 Littlegate Dr., Asheboro died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Cross was born July 25, 1929 in Randolph County, NC the son of William Boyd and Alta Mae (Lamar) Cross. He was an 82nd Airborne Army veteran. He was a retired carpenter, and was predeceased by his wife Peggy Marie Bullins Cross in December, 1993. He is survived by one daughter: Wanda Holmes of Denton, NC and two sons: Tim Cross of Denton, NC, Jody Cross of Seagrove, NC, seven Grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three sisters: Barbara Brown of AR, Elizabeth Castevens of Cleveland, OH, Betty Lee of Asheboro, NC and five brothers: Vernie Cross of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Frankie Cross of Farmer, NC, Bobby Cross of Asheboro, NC, Doug Cross of Asheboro, NC, Jimmy Cross of Greensboro, NC The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Pastor Tim Cross and Pastor Jimmy Shirlen officiating.
