Douglas Harrison Doug Thompson, age 55, of 2567 Old Liberty Road, Randleman died Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at his home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Frank Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Grove Community Church Cemetery. Mr. Thompson was a native of Randolph County and was employed with Commonwealth Hosiery Mill. He enjoyed golf and in his younger days, had won several Putt-Putt championships. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his daughter, Christy Thompson. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hayden Thompson; son, Steve Thompson of Randleman, NC; grandchild, Nickolas Thompson; parents, Dempsey and Edith Thompson of Asheboro, NC; brothers, Glenn Thompson, Mike Thompson, Wyatt Thompson, Tim Thompson all of Asheboro, NC, Willie Thompson of Sophia, NC, Danny Thompson of Troy, NC; sister, Terri Hill of Randleman, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC, other times at his home.
