Asheboro Mildred Way Stutts, age 76, of 711 Galway Place, Asheboro died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.
Mrs. Stutts was a native of Randolph County, and was employed by General Electric and retired from Black and Decker as a leader, after 41 years of loyal service. A life-long member of Central Wesleyan Church, serving faithfully as organist for many years, and served in various capacities of the church. Mildred used her musical talent to minister in many area nursing homes, volunteering her time unselfishly to serve others in many ways. Several years ago she was presented the Governor's Volunteer of the year award. Mrs. Stutts was preceeded in death by her husband Walter L. Stutts, daughter Sharon, father Glenn Way and stepfather Paul Boone.
She is survived by her mother, Jessie Way Boone of Asheboro, NC; sister, Dorothy Stutts of Asheboro, NC, sister Bobbie Hancock and husband Gene of Asheboro, NC; brother, Larry Way and wife Elaine of Ramseur, NC; brother, Dean Way and wife Ann of Little River, SC; 1 niece, 3 nephews, ; 8 great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. The funeral will be Sunday September 9, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Dr. Ron Hamilton officiating.Burial will be in Pine Rest Cemetery.
