Jack Branson McKenzie, age 82, of 985 Cagle Loop Rd., Seagrove died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at UNC-Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Mr. McKenzie was born May 20, 1925 in Star, NC the son of John Frank and Mary Elizabeth Morgan McKenzie.
Mr. McKenzie was a native of Montgomery County, member of Seagrove United Methodist Church and a Navy Veteran of WWII. Jack retired after 27 years of service from Union Carbide in Asheboro and from the Seagrove Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Ruth Auman McKenzie.
Jack is survived by daughters: Carol H. Robbins of Ramseur and Mary M. Loflin of Seagrove; sons: Tommy C. McKenzie of Vass, Hal B. McKenzie and Billy J. McKenzie both of Asheboro; 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; sister: Arlene M. Williams of Aberdeen.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 10, 2007 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. in Asheboro. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Seagrove United Methodist Church, 225 W. Main St. in Seagrove with Rev. Jeff Sweeney and Rev. Bob Bowling officiating. Burial will be in Whynot Cemetery, Fork Creek Mill Rd. in Seagrove.
