Eleanor Simpkins McQueen, age 87, of 401 Worth St., Asheboro died Friday, May 22, 2009 at Universal Health Care Of Ramseur, Ramseur.Mrs. McQueen was born July 10, 1921 in Wilmington, NC. the daughter of James Melvin and Willie Mae Fickling Simpkins. Mrs. McQueen was a native of Wilmington, NC and was a member of First E&R United Church of Christ. She along with her husband were Co-owners of the Jack & Jill Shop in Asheboro. She is survived by her husband: David F. McQueen; daughter: Linda McQueen of Philadelphia, PA; grandchildren: Kristin Diefes, Katelyn Garrett and Alan Diefes; sister: Martha Harrellson of Wilmington, NC.The family will receive friends Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Monday, May 25, 2009 at 11:00 AM. at First E & R United Church of Christ, 221 Cliff Road, Asheboro with Rev.
