Rebecca "Becky" Fox Allred Sexton, age 77, of 886 Westmont Dr., Asheboro died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mrs. Sexton was born November 12, 1932 at Siler City, NC the daughter of George Henry and Joy Fox Allred. Mrs. Sexton was a native of Chatham County where she graduated from Siler City High School in 1951. She attended Peace College and retired from Randolph Hospital after 35 years of service as medical transcriptionist in the Department of Pathology. Becky was a member of Dogwood Acres Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder, Chairman of the Fellowship Committee and Senior Leader for many years. She was a member of the East Coast Allred Family Association and Preservation of North Carolina. Becky had a great concern for the welfare of animals, interested in history, genealogy and historic preservation. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; James Lloyd Allred and one sister; Helen Allred Steppe. She is survived by her husband: Harlan Ray Sexton, Sr.; daughter and her husband, Kathryn Key & Phillip Fagg, II of Moravian Falls, NC and sister-in-law, Dawn Umburger Allred of Siler City, NC. The family will receive friends, Monday, February 8, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro and other times at her home. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 12:00 PM (noon) at Pugh Funeral Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky River Baptist Church Cemetery, 4436 Siler City-Snow Camp Road, Siler City. Memorials may be made to Dogwood Acres Presbyterian Church, 1024 Park Dr., Asheboro, NC 27203 or Humane Society of Randolph County, P.O. Box 4384, Asheboro, NC 27204.
