Kenneth L. Walker, age 67, of 825 Kildare Rd., Asheboro died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Walker was born January 17, 1943 the son of Elmer Edward Walker and Carrie Annie Spencer Walker. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, Ken was very active in Jaycees. He was a lifetime member of the North Carolina Jaycees and former JCI Senator. He was co-owner of AmesWalker International with friend and partner Paul Ametangelo. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for the excellent care during Ken's illness. He is survived by his wife: Cathryn Woodbury Walker, three daughters: Melody Walker of Garner, NC, Alisa Deans and her husband Stacy of Garner, NC, Alana Follas and her husband Brian of Belews Creek, NC, two sons: Brian Walker and his wife Terri of Asheboro, NC, Jimmy Curran and his wife Dana of Asheboro, NC, 9 grandchildren: Josh Blanton of Wilmington, NC; , Morgan and Alec Deans of Garner, NC; Kelsey and Katie Walker of Asheboro, NC, Seaver, Aidan, and Owen Follas of Belews Creek and Josie Curran of Asheboro, NC; one brother: Mitchell Walker and his wife Cecelia of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Monday, June 7th from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be 3 PM Tuesday, June 8th at Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro with Dr. Mark J. Key officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
