Barbara Ann Davis Ayers, age 44, of 934 Maple Ridge Road, Asheboro died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Balfour Baptist Church, 1644 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Rev. Jon Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Hilltop Baptist Church and other times at the home of Dwight Ayers, 3686 Old Cedar Falls Rd., Asheboro. Mrs. Ayers was a native of Randolph County, attended Bible Missionary Christian School, and was a graduate of Randolph Community College with an Associates degree in Business Administration. She was formerly employed with Jockey Manufacturing and was currently employed as the secretary for Forest Park Baptist Church. Barbara was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church, where she was church treasurer and a Sunday school teacher. Barbara was a devoted mother, wife, and daughter. She loved people and was known to the community as one who cared and always made you feel good. She is survived by her husband, Harold Ayers; son, Zack Ayers of the home; mother, Mary Padgett of Asheboro; sister, Tamatha McNeill and her husband Bobby of Seagrove; brother, Floyd E. Davis, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Randleman. Mrs. Ayers body will lie in state at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 12:00 noon-6:00 PM and Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 8:30 AM-12:00 noon. Memorials may be made to Zack Ayers Scholarship Fund, c/o Randolph Bank, 175 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
